When you’ve got nothing to give

Yesterday I was feeling pretty rough due to a sinus infection. I’m still not up to par but I just have to share how much I love the Lord.

He is so personal. He wants to reach down and touch us – EVERY DAY – regardless of how we’re feeling. I usually write my posts at night so my “Spring” post was written the night before. I reread my own words, “let’s look for Him today,” and I was challenged to take my own advice.

I didn’t have anything to give yesterday - I felt foggy, tired, achy, and just blah. I couldn’t breath very well as you can imagine but all of a sudden, on my drive to the dr., I smelled freshly cut grass and it made me smile – a totally unintentional, unprompted smile! I love freshly mowed lawns – they make me think summer, happy times, and warm weather.

I know that that moment was a sweet touch from the Lord. Thank You Jesus!

On my way out of the dr. office, I used the hallway restroom. My doctor’s office is located in the very hospital where I delivered my girls. Immediately after washing my hands, cherished memories of the births of my 2 girls came to mind as I smelled the soap and again I felt His touch.

I think it’s pretty cool that He showed me His love by using my sense of smell – a sense I barely have right now. In fact as I drove back by that freshly mowed lawn, I tried to smell it again and couldn’t. But on the way in, it came so strong. You could say it was the direction of the wind blowing but Who blows the wind anyway?! :)

Friends, I hope that you feel His presence today. He is SO close, He is SO personal, He is SO real and He adores you!
