This I got from Betsy Z. so I take no credit. I used to go and collect books and movies. This was all fine and good until it was time to return them. You see, I can be kind of spontaneous and would up and decide we should go. It was always difficult to find the books we needed, because we had gotten so many. As we raced against the clock (you know if you go too close to lunch or naptime, disaster strikes), I would give up on finding some of the missing books for that trip...thus resulting in TOO many late fees. Well now, thanks to Betsy - I allow the girls to pick out 10 books and 1 or sometimes 2 movies. That's it! It makes for much less hassle and an easier find!
And last but not least, things that make your home smell good!
I LOVE febreze which is especially good to spray in a room after changing a dirty diaper or spraying in the laundry bin or just for a splash of freshness.
I adore Bath and Body Wallflowers especially the Creamy Nutmeg and Exotic Coconut scents! And though I love candles...these are much safer with children around.

hmmm...I got this one from my mom. After washing lettuce, put it in a pillow case slip cover (clean and w/ a zipper on it) Stick it in your wash machine on the spin cycle for like 20 sec. It saves time and you don't need to have a lettuce spinner around to take up space!

great tips! I also use my pizza cutter for cutting quesedillas. My new rule is tossing/shredding junk mail as soon as it comes. This really cuts down on paper clutter.

As far as making my life easier, I have 6 kids so I haven't really found many helps for this at my house! However, I love Yankee Candles. I have had the chance to go to the big Yankee Candle store this year. So much fun, so many fragrances. Wild honey suckle was my favorite this year. :) Hope to see you at the conference.

When I came to your profile I saw that you have another blog about your adoption journey. Which of your children are adopted? I have a 9 year old girl whom we adopted from Russia about 8 years ago.
CLOROX WIPES! Couldn't live without 'em. Great for quick clean bathrooms- and I wipe off door handles at least 1/wk (do I sound overboard?!?)
Also, we make sugar cookies alot here- the kids LOVE decorating them. I give them their own cookie sheets(w/sides) and they go to town on the cookie sheets- keeps all the mess of the sprinkles/little balls on the cookie sheet. Easy clean-up.
I totally do the library thing too-only my kids know they each get to pick 5 books(I used to do 10 each until Iris was old enough-that was just too many) (: I always know I need to find 15 books.Love all the ideas!
That pizza cutter idea is great! I think I will start using that on our pancakes/waffles!
I agree with Abby...clorox wipes are a must have in our home too! I like to use them on the counters to disinfect after I have worked with meat.
I also use The Works shower spray to clean our shower. It works in about 30 seconds and does a pretty good job!
I pay bills as soon as they come in the mail so that I don't forget about them and avoid late fees.
I do the pizza cutter thing now too since I watched the show!!!
I can't think of anything incredible right now, but my hubby gets paid every 2 weeks. When I recieve his check, I pay the bills...that way I don't get behind. Of course, most are auto withdrawal. I also always write my tithing check 1st thing before any bills are paid. It has helped with my attitude and we have always had enough in the end!
The pizza cutter is great for sandwiches too.
Um. Tips.
My Shark sweeper vacuum is one of my prized possessions. I use it all day long to make the remnants of every meal disappear. And the kids love to use it, which is an added bonus.
No-one gets fed in this house until their messes are cleaned up. This ensures that toys are picked up at least twice a day.
Um. Sippy cups are kept in a low drawer and my 3 & 4 year olds help themselves to water from the fridge. This is a beautiful thing. I used to make them each 4 sippy cups in the am and put them in the fridge and they could help themselves. But that was a whole lot of sippy cups, actually.
Well, there's some, anyway. :)
FYI, just found your blog but I thought I might tell you to go to Bath and Body Works now. They were having a sale this weekend which is hopefully still going on. 75% off clearance they had those wallflowers on clearance buy one get two free.
