Today the kids and I got to hang out with some great friends!
While we were eating lunch I looked at Paige and with love in my eyes said, "Paigey, I love you! I'm so glad your my kid." To which she replied "I wish I was Aunt Megan's kid!"
Unfortunately for me, the above mentioned Aunt Megan happened to be right there and nearly spit out the food she was eating! Megan doubled in laughter. I, on the other hand merely chuckled and shook my head in stunned silence. I mean what is one to say after such a slam?!
Somehow, I think my past wrongs have come back to bite me. KIDS, gotta love 'em!
So I'm thinking I want to hear some of your funny kid moments. I know you all have them. Think about the last time your kid totally embarrassed you or made you laugh out loud!

Oh, this is funny, Jami!!
I have quite a few from Kindergarten Sunday School days...
We were discussing the story of when Jesus accended up to Heaven. Before Jesus left, He gave His disciples the job to spread the gospel and tell people about Him.
Well, I was quizing the kids and asked one little boy (a farmer's son) what "special" job Jesus gave his disciples.
He looked a little flustered and nervous. He finally shrugged and said, "Well I don't know...Chop hay?"
Needless to say, it was HARD to keep a straight face and say, "Umm, well...not exactly."
Oh, kids are too cute!

I have another Sunday School story. Over 20 years ago, I was teaching the three and four-year olds at the C-U church. Peter was the youngest of three kids in his family but his mom was expecting a fourth soon. I asked him if he wanted a baby brother or a baby sister. He seriously replied, "I hope that it's just a basketball!" I'm sure that's what his mom's tummy looked like to him...and he probably enjoyed being the youngest up to that point. It was certainly not what I had expected him to say! :)
What I laughed at most is Paige's expression as we started to laugh - she got this smile on her face like "I just made a funny."
Tell Paige she can come on over, but I have a feeling she would change her mind seconds after arriving! She's got it pretty good. :)
I've got tons of hilarious kid-moments and phrases - and they keep coming DAILY - but one of our favorites around here was when Ellie was 2 and had been sitting on the toilet (for quite a while with no success) she said in her tiny little 2-year old voice, "Mommy, I think I'm a little sophisticated!"
How funny! Not for you, of course, but hello! Hillarious!

There is always something be said...sometimes its a little scary.
I announced to the boys that it was time to get ready for nap. And Tyler, my oldest comes out and says, "we were just playing kidnapping"...and in a matter of miliseconds I am thinking "oh no how does he even know about this term?!@"
So I calmly ask in my ever so calm mommy voice, "honey what does that mean?"
"You know mommy, two kids napping!"
"Oh that sounds like fun honey"
I so did not want to be explaining to my 4 year old what the true meaning of of "kidnapping" was right before I laid him down for his nap. Talk about "napmares"
